Plastic Free July!

It's July! Not only is it my birthday month but it's also Plastic Free July! Have you ever thought about how many disposable plastics you use every single day, week, and month?! What if you replaced a one single use plastic every day with something reusable?

It's Plastic Free July so why not start now?! Below are a few ways you can replace simple things and make a big difference.

1.) Replace your plastic water bottle with a reusable one. This one is one of my favorites second to my sweet peach ones that my sweet director, Kristi, gave me! I usually have to wrestle those away from my boys because they love them too! LOL. If you replace your water bottles with a reusable one you could replace over 150 bottles every year by yourself!

2.) Replace disposable baggies with re-usable baggies or tupperware! This is a hard one for a lot of people because it requires you to keep up with but if you are already taking a re-usable lunch box (which you should) then what's the difference with using reusable bags and silverware!

3.) Grab a re-usable grocery bag or a paper bag that can be recycled versus the plastic ones! Yep, this requires you to keep these in your car but if you remember to do this then they will always be available when you need them! This is a hard one for a lot of people because it is a convenience factor but considering Americans use 100 billion plastic bags a year and this requires 12 Million barrels of oil to make, I think we should make an exception. Another plus, it holds more and you can carry on your shoulder!

So what will you do for Plastic Free July? Start small and make a big difference. If you use something plastic, that's okay, just recycle it so it can be used again but limit your consumption.

Happy Plastic Free July y'all!
